Thank You for Carrying the Pain With Me

I will never forget the way you hugged me when I told you. I hadn’t even finished my spluttering sentence, but your arms were around me, tight, to calm my body. You pulled me into you, took my breath away, until there was no more negative space. It’s as if, for a brief moment, you wanted us to become one. Thank you for carrying the pain with me.
