It Was Too Good to Be True

Part 1 of 2. Check back for the rest of the story!

Our first date could not have gone any better. He was attractive, bold, and charismatic. He spoke intimately of his humble beginnings and his loyalty to his family. After sushi (I let him choose), we took his fast, swanky Infiniti to a bar for a drink and a game of pool. It crossed my mind that I should hesitate to get in the car with him, but I felt a surprising degree of trust.

I had beginner’s luck with the pool stick. He kissed me decisively after I beat him. At the end of the night, he returned me safely to my little Toyota in the restaurant parking lot.

It was too good to be true.
